The Museum of Indian Culture in Salisbury Township is reaching out to the community for donations to its food bank. The donations are distributed around the tri-state area to American Indian families, museum officials explained. These families are federally recognized as impoverished and gain a great deal of help from the museums efforts.

The volunteer-based food bank was created after the museum was contacted privately in 2007 regarding food assistance for American Indian families, she explained. It has since become a continuous effort, raising more than usd. 2,000 in food and monetary donations in less than two years.

However, the pickles and spices listed on the final page are a MUST ORDER to truly appreciate the food. They could make footwear taste good. The Food Bank of Siouxland makes a mad dash to fill its shelves. The second annual shopping for the food bank event took over the Fareway Foods Store in Indian Hills Thursday. Siouxlands morning radio personality teams from Powell Broadcasting hit the aisles to grab as much food as they could in three minutes.
