2010-03-15 Polar bears and Inuit symbols mark trip to Churchill, Canada

We are standing on the shore of Hudson Bay, which never goes above 3 degrees Celsius. It is where bears gather as the ice begins to form, enabling them to begin their seal hunt, providing their food for the year. The stones are an Inuit inukshuk symbol, meaning "the way" and welcoming people to the bay area. The inukshuit were used as landmarks for people and fishing areas. The inukshuit were also the symbol for the 2010 Olympics.

2010-03-10 Economy: Retail sales up as wintry weather subsides - Yorkshire Evening Post

Non-food sales recovered after taking a hit the month before, while clothing also did well as people got out to the shops again and sought winter warmers.

The growth is compared with very weak figures a year ago when February saw the worst of last winters weather and this Februarys performance was helped by sales postponed from January - particularly sales of non-food items such as homewares and fashion. "

Many non-food sectors saw double digit growth in sales during the first week of February, following a snowbound January.

2010-03-08 Albert Lea Tribune Adventures in the Sax-Zim Bog

Birders became people who talked to their feet and used hand warmers, foot warmers, bun warmers in cars, and nostril heaters that kept noses from freezing shut. Melting snow slid off a sunlit roof and went down a Floridians neck. Floridians are always angering the weather gods for reasons unknown.

The gray jay (AKA Whiskey Jack, Canada jay, camp robber, timberjay) likes temperatures cold enough to assure successful storage of perishable food and malleable tree bark so that the jay is able to wedge cached food into dry spaces.

Although there has been a 17 per cent cut in salt levels overall since Cash carried out a similar survey three years ago, 99 per cent of soups still had more salt than a packet of crisps and a quarter failed to meet the Food Standard Agency 2010 target of 0. 6g per 100g.

The big chill follows me from location to location. I sit through movies with my teeth chattering and try to stay as far away from windows as possible when I and rsquo;m in a restaurant. I race through the frozen food section at the supermarket wearing gloves and a grim expression. I swear sometimes my feet clunk on the floor like blocks of ice.

I find some comfort in knowing I and rsquo;m not the only person who feels this way. I passed along one of those small, one-use chemical hand warmers to a co-worker last year, and he proclaimed himself hooked.

2009-12-08 Five keys to Copenhagen

People of Earth. the citizens, that is: ANY time, and EVERY time you encounter a global hoaxer, or a believer of the global hoaxers, begin hitting it in the face with any object at your disposal. Fists, bottles, mugs of hot coffee, steins of beer- every country, every citizen. If we hit them enough, and enough of them, they will get back in their wakjob space ships and leave. Or die from facial fractures so constant that they no longer are able to consume food or spread their lies. Also- their body guards need the same treatment. so, hey bodyguards: QUIT and get honest jobs like we all do.
