News on Food Dryers 2007102007-11-02 The Daily Times Salisbury, Md.Though our server got points for being appropriately apologetic throughout our meal, the experience continued to decline: Tables nearby are never cleared, there were no paper towels (or hand-dryers) in the bathroom, and when dessert arrived -- a brownie ice cream concoction for all to share -- our server told us she was all out of spoons. Out of spoons (She managed to scrape together a few extra soup spoons. ) We left wondering if the Turtles fast-track was actually a slow descent into mediocrity. If football and beer are on the agenda, it is hard to beat the Greene Turtle. But for food and service, no one seems to be giving 110 percent.
2007-10-12 Issues progress in SGA - NEWSChairman Matt Walker said he met with Director of Campus Dining John Lewis Thursday about getting credit and debit in some residence halls, but Walker said he was told Business Affairs did not think that would be financially responsible. Walker also said he found out the reason why a hamburger in one place, for example, costs more than in another is because they are different products. He said he was told one thing Dining is considering to reduce prices of some food is to reduce the package size. He said discussions also were made about reducing the line sizes by not giving receipts to people who having dining plans. He said legislation could be written in support of that. 2007-11-02 Reality TV Magazine: Kid Nation Discovers The Root Of All EvilAs our intrepid treasure hunters were hunting for gold in them there hills, several interesting bits were being played in town. Sophia decided to put usd. . 50 in a bucket of some rank food to see who would put their hand in to retrieve it. There was not any doubt that young kids, who are used to putting their hands in yucky stuff, would go for the coins. What was funny was that Sophia was so shocked that they would do it. In another part of town, Divad and Jared brought the families together for a sit-down about the territorial disputes that had plagued the area. OK, maybe not quite so dramatic, but I thought it nice that the two worked it out about the whole table incident and gave each other a hug. www.realitytvmagazine.com Reality TV Magazine is your source for the latest news about reality tv shows and reality tv stars.
2007-11-04 Daily PilotI was moved though, by the impacts that even a single home can create on a neighborhood. I met with one of the neighbors, a retired school teacher who, with her husband, purchased a home on the boardwalk more than 35 years ago. She and rsquo;s experienced the cycles of vacation rentals on the peninsula and added to that she now must deal with the intense and on-going impacts of a group home. A couple of doors down is a state-licensed rehab facility with a capacity of 49 persons. Each day, they tell me the trash truck, commercial mail carriers, food suppliers come down the alley to service this home - much like they would a business.
2007-10-13 Firefighters: Dont get burned by lack of planHe explained several ways that fires can start. An incendiary or arson fire is one that is deliberately set. An electrical fire could occur if a car hits a telephone pole and the wires fall down and start a fire. An accidental fire, which Snediker said is the number one cause of fires in the United States, can occur when food is left on a stove or when a candle is left alone and falls over. A product fire is the result of an appliance malfunction or a faulty extension cord. Coffeemakers, toaster ovens, curling irons, hair dryers, water heaters and ovens are common sources.
2007-10-13 The Green Kitchen: Hot under the collar - Times OnlineWith autumn here, oven use makes more gastronomic sense. But it and rsquo;s going to have to work hard to justify all that energy use. One way to maximise oven use is to make a double dose of whatever and rsquo;s cooking. Double takes little more time to prepare than single, and little more time to cook. The method doesn and rsquo;t work with food that and rsquo;s best straight from the oven, a roast, say, but it shines with food that can be frozen: braised meat, soups, pulses, lasagne, etc. Reheating in the microwave takes mere minutes, and uses approximately 10 per cent of the energy you would use if cooking a second batch from scratch. I could swear that when I walked past my oven the other day, it whispered plaintively: and ldquo;Don and rsquo;t you like me any more and rdquo; Like most people, I use the oven less during the warmer (well, theoretically warmer) summer months.
2007-11-02 Kid Nation: The Root Of All EvilThe showdown was pretty interesting and it was nice to see the blue team work together so well catching their golden eggs. I couldnt believe how many they got -- 38. Crikey. The red and green districts performed horribly though. How could they have only caught five and six eggs in all of 15 minutes Thanks to the efforts of the blue team, the entire town got their reward though. Their choices were: a laundromat with modern coin-operated washers and dryers (20 cents per load) or new outfits for each of them and four pioneer-era washing machines that were free to operate. How smart of them to choose the second option; not to mention some of them kids really needed some different clothes to wear. I think most of them were wearing the same thing day after day.

2007-10-14 Kecoughtan plan takes a detour -Hampton had to close its waiting list for Section 8 housing after about 54 tenants were kicked out of The Apartments of Merrimac in June. Besides its land ownership around the apartments and Section 8 involvement, the city had one other interest - former economic development director James Eason has long co-owned the Food Lion Center next door. The complex is being converted entirely from gas to electric, with full new heating and air and electric systems, plumbing, roofs and windows. The units, which are intended for families and college students, will have washers and dryers and new cabinetry and appliances. An overhaul of the area surrounding two Kecoughtan Road shopping centers, including one anchored by Food Lion, was the most ambitious, expensive, landscape-altering portion of the city of Hamptons plan for the corridor. - Story
